Whether it is a small group of just a handful of people or a bus or coach tour, the Glenbrook Vintage Railway can cater for your needs - all with a personal touch.
Many people enjoy riding behind historic steam engines, and the Glenbrook Vintage railway can provide that "live" experience with a charter catered to your requirements. Each trip into the past is around an hour long and can include a 'photographers run-past' enabling you to capture the action from the line-side for posterity. Or you could pick up a little something from our station gift shop which sells quality souvenirs from badges and DVDs to shirts and caps.
During the charter, your group will be guided through the history of the Railway and the Society by our Tour Guide. A feature of the visit will be a tour through our Engineering Workshops where you will be able to see up close the skills and equipment required to restore and operate the magnificent steam locomotives and other rolling stock. Our Tour Guide will happily answer any questions your group may have.
Your group will also have the opportunity to get up close to the locomotive and talk to the crew who are operating it.
Our staff will be on hand to provide background information on our equipment, buildings, history etc. As our staff help to maintain and restore our displays, you can be assured that you're always getting the best information, with quality insight.
Sounds like a good option for your next group outing? Then contact our Charter Manager, Robert Sweet, on 021 649 133 or email email@example.com
today, to make your arrangements. We will be happy to help in any way we can to make your group visit very memorable.
Consider the distinctive and unique venue of a heritage steam train setting in the pleasant and picturesque rural South Auckland countryside, that could be the foundation for a unique and memorable corporate event.
We offer a unique and special way for businesses to incentivise their employees by offering an experience they will never forget. Our facilities are available for those special team-building occasions and the Railway would be particularly applicable for Christmas parties and similar functions.
We would be pleased to discuss with you any special requirements that you may consider appropriate to your needs.
The GVR is always a popular location for school groups to visit for educational purposes. Railways played a vital role in the development of New Zealand from the 1860's, particularly in opening up the country and the linking of isolated communities before the advent of decent roads and the motor vehicle. At GVR you will find an accurate and "live" representation of many aspects of New Zealand's great railway history.
